A Facial Peel is used to remove the surface layers of dead skin cells without affecting the deeper skin layers.
What is a Facial Peel?
A facial peel involves applying a special solution to the skin. New Life Clinic WA’s facial peels will:
- rejuvenate your skin
- reduce pigmentation
- settle acne
- improve your overall skin texture
All peels have varying levels of resurfacing to induce collagen production, improving sun damage, fine lines and wrinkles of the face.
New Life Clinic WA offers a range of peels, providing our clients with alternatives best suited to their skincare needs. Our experienced dermal therapist will consult with you about your needs, perform a skin analysis and the results you would like to achieve in order to suggest the best treatment or combination of treatments for you.
Our TCA peels are a cooling peeling system to refine pores, remove dead skin cells and create a smooth and polished glow. It effectively sterilises the skin and prevents breakouts. A TCA Peel is the perfect peel for the treatment of mature and sun damaged skin presenting with fine lines and pigmentation. Performed fortnightly, a series of 2-6 peels is recommended.
Jessner’s Peels have been used for cosmetic purposes for over three decades. It is a moderate strength chemical peel using salicylic acid to deeply penetrate the skin and remove congested sebum and dead skin cells. Jessner’s chemical peels are very good for sun damage and pigmentation (sun spots), blackheads and acne prone skin. A series of 3-6 peels performed fortnightly to monthly is generally recommended.
The Glycolic Peel procedure removes the upper layers of your skin to smooth and soften, diminish fine lines, decrease acne outbreaks, even skin tone and lighten brown spots. Glycolic peels predominately contain alpha-hydroxy acid this is a naturally occurring acid found in sugar cane. Glycolic peels are great for treating mild sun damage, pigmentation and loss of elasticity.
Preparing for your Facial Peel
A facial peel treatment takes approximately 40 – 60 minutes. For optimal results, our dermal therapists recommend that prior to the treatment you will need to use some “priming products”. At your initial consultation, a specific skin care regime will be recommended to you to optimize the outcome and assist in the healing process post treatment.
Post Treatment Peel Care
It is important to recognise that a chemical peel is a dermal treatment for the skin, requiring ‘healing time’. Before the fantastic results of a chemical peel is evident, clients can expect to see the following as the skin goes through its natural healing process.
• You may have mild redness (like a sunburn) this will last 1 – 2 days
• Your skin may feel a bit dry and tighter than usual
• You may notice flaking and peeling of your skin for 3-7 days following your peel
• After the skin has shed it has a healthy glow, feels softer, smoother and is more even in colour
Be assured that the above skin reactions are normal and evidence that the chemical peel is working, however our skilled staff and qualified dermal therapists are available to talk to should you have any concerns post treatment.
